What is Weather Era?
Weather Era (weatherera.com) is a global weather service built around a simple belief: checking the weather should feel calm, not cluttered. We show the forecast the way a well-designed app should — clean typography, a sky that reflects the actual conditions outside, and every important number one glance away.
SkyScore — our signature feature
Beyond temperature and rain, Weather Era computes a SkyScore for the activities people actually plan around: hiking, fishing, camping, running and gardening. The score blends precipitation, wind, temperature comfort, UV and air quality into a single 0–100 rating, so you can answer “is tomorrow good for it?” in one glance instead of cross-checking five charts.
Where the data comes from
Forecasts and air-quality readings are provided by Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0), an open-source weather API aggregating national meteorological models (GFS, ECMWF, ICON and others). Air-quality values follow the US EPA AQI standard. We refresh city data every 30 minutes and always display the observation time.
Our principles
- Readable first. High-contrast, large-type design that works on any screen.
- Restrained monetisation. At most two ad placements per page, never interrupting weather content — and a premium, ad-free option as we grow.
- Privacy by default. No accounts, no tracking cookies of our own, location only with your consent. See our Privacy Policy.
- Honest sourcing. Every forecast credits the model behind it.
